Porter – Extract – Deschutes clone
I heard an all-grain recipe on the Brewing Network for this beer. I made some calculations and coverted it to extract. My version doesn’t clone the beer, but still makes a mighty tasty beverage. I think changing the pale chocolate to another chocolate malt around 400°L will get it much closer.
Dopple Bock – Extract kit from Northern Brewer.
The first “big” beer I brewed. I wasn’t ready to do a lager yet, so I pitched Wyeast 1028 London Ale. It’s the yeast I’ve used since the beginning. My volume was high so my OG was low. Still came in at 7.7% ABV however.

Irish Red – All Grain
Second attempt at all-grain. The recipe came from BYO with the ingredients ordered from Midwest Supplies. Brew day went really well, but I thought the beer had a severe DMS problem. I tried to drink a glass on two different occasions and ended up dumping the whole batch. I later traced the problem to my faucet. Dirty and putting off flavors in the beer as it was being poured. What a shame.

Liberty Cream Ale – Extract kit from Midwest Supplies.
I ordered this kit so I would have a “yellow” on hand for some friends that were coming down. Early on it was really boring, but as it aged it got brillantly clear and delicious.

Big River Brown – All Grain kit from Midwest Supplies.
My first all-grain attempt and the first brew to get kegged. The technique is easy enough and only adds about an hour to my brew day. I drank about half the keg before I started tasting something I thought was an infection and dumped the rest out. I now think it was a DMS problem I grew more sensative to.

Porter – Extract
I made a spur of the moment trip to Cheyenne, WY and hit up the LHBS there, Depot Street Merchants. I wanted to make a porter so I just kinda threw a recipe together off the top of my head. It is one of the cleanest beers I have brewed.

Nut Brown – Extract kit from Northern Brewer.
Recipe kit I got for Christmas. I thought it was really good so I sent it off to Sam Adam’s Longshot Comp. Scored a 23. Got some really good feedback. It had a DMS problem that I was unaware of.

Dirty 30 – Extract
The first recipe I made on my own and brewed on my 30th Birthday. Inspired from the Big River Brown. Picked up the ingredients from Hops and Berries in Ft. Collins, CO.

Hank’s Hefe-Weizen – Extract kit from Midwest Supplies.
My first five gallon batch of beer. I wanted a wheat beer, just not a German version.
